A; No Billy Bob! whilst its true that large numbers of gays do wear Hawaiians, and most certainly, fat party animals also, outrageous shirts are the prerogative of no social/ethnic/political faction!Anyone, anywhere, can wear any outrageous shirt with impunity, there is no discrimination in styles or tastes, the only possible exception to this, is the deliberate use of shirts as a method of subliminal recruitment, an example being ,Hitlers famous 'brownshirts', which subliminally recruited 'brownhatters' or 'nazis', to their 'cause'.

Q; I like to wear a light-blue 'Guayabera' under my sweater,It is silk and I like the feel of it next to my skin, am I normal?[Helen, London UK]

A; Yes Helen! you are normal! we all like the feel of silk here at outrageous shirts of the world, but why not discard the sweater?

Q; Carlthepirate is a hunky shirt enthusiast, is he gay? [Roger, Paris France]

A; Carlthepirate is strictly heterosexual. We here, suspect him of occasionally wearing 'blouses', but this is an unsubstantiated rumour......

A; No Andy, we are not affiliated to any organization, anywhere.

Q; Is the annual 'worst shirt' contest open to anyone? [Gordon, scotland]

A; Yes! anyone with a bad shirt can enter, the 2010 event is informally held aboard the cruise ship 'Explorer' [second and third week in Jan]

Q; I am a Canadian construction worker, I have bought a Hawaiian for my vacation, but am unsure how my friends will react when they see my holiday photos, am I worrying unnecessarily?[Stefan, Montreal, Canada]

A; you are worrying about nothing! wear your shirt and enjoy your vacation! you are not alone! there are many bad shirt wearers in Canada! why not do a try -out in your local bar? you may be surprised by the reaction you get!

Q; I am new to the world of the tasteless shirt, all my life I have sought inspiration, movie-star Tom Selleck has inspired me to greater things, I now own several Hawaiians and a couple of really loud,'collectors' shirts, can you offer any advice on other movie -stars to imitate?[T.Uguechi, Tokyo, Japan]

A; We here ,agree with your selection of role model.

Tom selleck, is everyone's idea of an outrageous shirt wearer, his style is unsurpassed, his use of cigar/moustache ,complements the overall picture ,of bad and outrageous styling. For other really bad movie-star style, have you looked at Bruce Willis, or Jeff  Bridges maybe? both are outstanding examplers, but there are many others.  

Q; What is the definition of an 'outrageous' shirt?, Some of my most exuberant examples, are regularly sold in high street stores, how do I know ,when I have found the 'right one'?[karl, Wiesbaden, Germany]

A; This is a tricky question, usually your significant 'other' will be the final arbiter, however, feedback at 'outrageous shirts of the world' will usually confirm your choices as being truly awful,tasteless shirts have always been a feature of german culture, we understand your doubts, but , rest assured, modern germans have very refined tastes in shirt selection! A;, Yes Roger, we are sure! Carlthepirate is happily married , and has been for 29 years! we wondered why you kept asking us this question!, are you sure you are at the right website? perhaps you have us confused with, 'outrageous shirtlifters  of the world!', [we are not affiliated, but believe they operate out of San Francisco,USA]

Q; What are the aims of OSOTW ? [Max, Liverpool UK]

A; Our aims are simple, we seek to encourage everyone in the world to be themselves! We feel that people in authority should take the lead on this one.We are somewhat disappointed that President Obama, for instance, does not wear more Hawaiian shirts! being, as he is from Hawaii! but we would like to see all world leaders embrace the outrageous shirt mentality, can you imagine how happy his holiness the Pope would be to wear an oversize Hawaiian? [whilst he leaves the closet! or forested area]or 'maybe all the delegates ,at the UN in colourful shirt attire? We strive to encourage all shirt lovers to bring their best[or worst!] examples out of the closet and on public display.
